WATCH: Emirates and Air NZ cabin crews take up the #DontRushChallenge

To keep themselves entertained during this quiet time in the skies, cabin crews from two airlines have absolutely crushed the #DontRushChallenge.

The challenge, which according to Teen Vogue, was started by 20-year-old business management student Toluwalase Asolo and seven of her friends, features a group of friends passing each other a metaphorical baton to undergo a striking visual transformation.

The original features a series of clips showing seven friends wearing loungewear pass each other a make-up brush that they then use to cover the camera before revealing themselves dressed to the nines and looking fabulous.

The videos are intended to be made from each individual’s home while in self-isolation. The ‘Don’t Rush’ part of the challenge comes from the song used on the background of the videos, “Don’t Rush” by UK rap duo Young T and Bugsey.

The challenge has since been recreated by social media users all over the world, including cabin crew from Emirates and Air New Zealand.

The first one from Emirates was posted to Instagram by @jamilahtravelista and shows each crew member transforming out of their pyjamas or lounging clothes into their uniforms by passing around the iconic red shade of lipstick worn by the airline’s flight attendants, or their red hats.

Another group of Emirates cabin crew also completed the challenge, adding a personal twist.

In this clip, posted to Facebook by Vita Smith, cabin crew use their own passports as the baton to show how multi-cultural Emirates staff members can be.

The pre-transformation sequences also differ by showing each member of the crew engaging in a hobby or activity to give the clip a personal touch.

Meanwhile, dozens of members of Air New Zealand’s long-haul cabin crew family have put together their own take on the challenge, now known as the #UniformChallenge.

Thankfully, these have all been conveniently collected and edited into a single video, and shared on social media by flight attendant Georgia Groom.

Check it out in all its glory HERE.
