With a tropical climate, white sandy beaches, coconut palms and lush rainforest, you’d be forgiven for mistaking Hainan Island with Hawaii.

And getting there is now easier thanks Wendy Wu Tours, which has released a new eight-day package to this unspoilt patch of paradise.

Flying Hainan Airlines with direct flights from Sydney and Melbourne to Haikou, travellers will be touching down in paradise in under 10 hours, the bonus is by taking a direct flight, no visa is required.

This idyllic tropical island is the perfect destination for that beach holiday without the hefty price tag, here you will find year-round warm weather, five-star resorts, lush green rainforests, golf courses, shopping and the freshest seafood along with the island’s famed Hainan chicken.

Many of the locals found in Haikou are the Li people who have lived on the island for thousands of years, have a distinct culture and traditions that are very much intact to this day.

Wendy Wu Tours’ eight-day ‘Best of Hainan’ package starts from $2,540 per person twin share for superior accommodation and includes international flights, transfers, most meals, English-speaking guide and tour/entrance fees.
