Velocity celebrates 10 million members with biggest-ever combined giveaway

Velocity Frequent Flyer has announced it has reached 10 million members – almost the equivalent of Sweden’s entire population.

To celebrate the milestone, Velocity has launched its biggest combined points and status credit giveaway ever.

The offer includes a 100 million status credits giveaway, a 10 million points giveaway through the Velocity app, and double Velocity points on Virgin Australia flight bookings (terms and conditions apply, of course).

Velocity Frequent Flyer CEO Karl Schuster said it was important to celebrate the member milestone and give back to Velocity’s members by making it more achievable for them to go on holiday.

“With around 12 million Australians going on holiday only once or less per year, we want to make it easier for them to take a break more often,” he said.

“Our 10 million members celebration offers announced today mean that members can move up the status tiers quicker and also share in more than 10 million points to help them book that next flight with us.

“It’s free to join Velocity and once you’re a member, you can earn and redeem with points with over 90 partners. We have members of all ages, all around the country, and we even have a few pets who earn points on their travel.”

Furthermore, Velocity, Virgin Australia and Etihad Airways are celebrating the 10th year anniversary of their partnership with a bonus points offer for guests travelling from Australia to Abu Dhabi and beyond.

The celebratory offers come not long after Velocity increased carrier charges for reward seat bookings on most Virgin Australia-operated flights made on or after 8 January 2020.
