Hotel review: The Anam Nha Trang Vietnam

Hotel review: The Anam Nha Trang Vietnam

Overlooking 300 metres of beachfront on Vietnam’s stunning Cam Ranh peninsula, The Anam is a nod to its Indochine history with a modern Vietnamese twist.

First Impression/ Look and Feel on Arrival

The open-air lobby of The Anam has the wow factor and is like a romantic colonial step back in time. The French colonial influence is sympathetically integrated into the architecture and design of this luxury resort.

It has also been designed to take advantage of the area’s impeccable weather with an envious 300 sunny days a year and an average temperature of 26.5 degrees Celsius year round.

The 12-hectare property is shaded by 3,000 coconut trees and is surrounded by the pristine Long Beach

Location

The Anam is on the northern part of Cam Ranh peninsula and is less than 20 minutes drive from Cam Ranh international airport.

The resort is easily accessible from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi with daily flights from both cities

The Spa

The Anam Spa has 10 treatment rooms, including four VIP rooms designed for couples, each equipped with two massage beds, a steam room, sauna and outdoor granite Jacuzzi.

I took advantage of this world-class spa three times as its reputation has preceded itself on its traditional Asian healing techniques.

I tried the mud wrap and scrub only offered at this Spa in Vietnam. The texture was sublime and the treatment is renowned for its antioxidant properties. My skin glowed after it.

All of this, combined with exceptionally well-qualified therapists making for an immersive well-being experience as soon as you walk in the door

The Rooms

The rooms are tastefully appointed with hardwood finishes from sustainable forest, and the mosaic floor tiles, creating a striking distinction.

Spacious and with all the creature comforts. There is a mini-bar with an espresso coffee machine which is always a big tick for those who like their coffee in bed. As well as a king-sized or twin beds, every room has a sofa and balcony area, bathrooms have a big shower as well as a tub, creating a sense of completion in the design.

Drinking and Dining

We had breakfast daily at the Indochine and it was superb. I am not usually a fan of buffet but this was an extensive breakfast which included Vietnamese, Asian and Western dishes, vast spreads of pastries, breads and fruit, a live cooking station and freshly squeezed juices.

And did I say I love coffee? The coffee was sensational.

The Colonial, a fine dining French-inspired restaurant was equal to some of the finest French restaurants in Paris.

Hotel Features

There is a complimentary morning beachfront yoga class, or enjoy the many water sports on offer.

There is also a tennis court, badminton net, frisbees, balls, a pool table and three swimming pools. Every day two films are shown in the 3D cinema, one for children and the other grown-ups. And of course, the pristine beach all to yourself.

Verdict

Friendly and warm staff, world-class spa, great food, clean beach and quality food choices make this a perfect getaway in the affordable luxury category for couples and families alike.

The Anam is part of the WorldHotels Collection portfolio.
