Someone stuck googly eyes on a US statue and we can’t stop laughing

Some absolutely shocking news has emerged from the US this week.

Someone has stuck googly eyes on a statue – and the local police are far from impressed.

Everyone else, on the other hand, is exceptionally impressed.

A prankster has decorated the statue of Major General Nathanael Greene in Savannah, Georgia with some googly eyes, leaving the local government no choice but to chuck a photo on Facebook and demand everyone take it seriously.

The defaced statue is in Johnson Park, where the American Revolutionary War general was buried in 1786. And just look at it:

This is essentially the look on authorities faces once they discovered the defaced statue.

The prankster has now been dubbed the “Googly Eye Bandit”, according to Pedestrian.TV, and despite the authorities tireless efforts, has not yet been caught.

We know it’s “not a laughing matter”, but we think it’s pretty damn funny – and the comments on the post only add to our enjoyment.

Excuse us while we stick googly eyes on everything we own.
