Singapore Tourism Board x Travel Weekly – Agent Singapore famil. It sounds like a bit of a fashion label collaboration, doesn’t it? But no, it’s the awesome adventure four travel agents had exploring every facet of the Lion City.

Earlier, we revealed the Art & Design itinerary, and today we’re on location with Zoe Taylor, from Peter Milling Boutique Travel in Dubbo NSW.

She was given the fun-filled FAMILY itinerary, and boy was it a cracker.

From a cafe called EatPlayLove and taking a ride on the Sentosa Cable Car, to strolling around Little India and Chinatown, Zoe had one heck of an adventure.

Day 1

Captain Explorer DUKW Tour – for one of the best ways to start your Singapore visit is with this city tour with a difference. After this city tour head over to Kampong Glam, Singapore’s Malay/Arab quarter.

Check out the great shopping in Haji Lane and even try a Selfie Coffee. For an authentic Singapore souvenir try your hand at making some perfume or shop for traditional Malay batik fabrics. While you are in the area stop by EatPlayLove Café for lunch where the kids (and adults) can get crafty at the same time.

In the afternoon a visit to Chinatown is a must. Don’t miss places here include the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum, the Chinatown Heritage Centre and the fantastic street markets. Here you are sure to find something for the whole family.

Try some local food for dinner tonight at Chinatown Food Street, the kids will love the variety and being able to try something new.

Day 2

Make your way to Mount Faber to take a ride on the Sentosa Cable Car to Resorts World Sentosa, an integrated resort experience designed to keep the whole family entertained. The highlight for the kids will be Universal Studios Singapore where they can enter the world of the silver screen in seven movie-themed zones.

Water lovers will be mesmerised by the Marine Life Park. This includes the S.E.A Aquarium, an aquarium that features over 100,000 marine animals, the Adventure Cove Waterpark providing the wild and wet fun of waterslides.

Day 3

This morning take a stroll around Little India and eat a local breakfast at Tekka Wet Market. Little India today is one of Singapore’s most vibrant districts, as you walk down Serangoon Road and neighbouring streets, explore the mix of Hindu and Chinese temples, mosques and churches.

The kids will love shopping for ethnic products in Little India including costume jewellery, clothing and Jasmine garlands. They can even get a Henna painting.

Next head on over to Marina Bay Sands and the Skypark where you will get spectacular views back over the city. At the base of Marina Bay Sands you will find ArtScience Museum, as the name suggests the museum fuses art and science to tell fascinating stories.

The museum is also home to permanent exhibition, Future World: Where Art Meets Science, where visitors can immerse themselves in a dynamic 1,500-square-metre digital universe of interactive art installations revolving around the themes of Nature, Town, Park and Science.

This afternoons must visit is Gardens by the Bay, make sure that you bring the kids swimwear as there is a FREE one-hectare garden with a 7.5 metre tall tree house and interactive water tunnels. Follow this with a visit to the two Cool Conservatories, which showcase plant life from all around the world.

End the evening with dinner at Satay by the Bay and the nightly light and sound show at the Supertree Grove, where you can keep the kids entertained with these stunning man-made trees up to 16 stories tall.

Day 4

Want your kids to also have an educational experience during their time in Singapore? This morning head to some of the many museums spread over the island covering numerous areas of interest. If heritage is your cup of tea, then the National Museum of Singapore is a must, the museum tells you the intriguing story of this country in a fun and rewarding manner.

Prefer art? The top of your list should be the region’s newest and largest museum, the National Gallery Singapore, which oversees the largest collection of modern art in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

Smack in the heart of the Civic District, the Gallery is also an architectural gem, as it is housed in two beautifully restored and transformed national monuments – the former Supreme Court and City Hall.

This afternoon spend some time getting up close and personal with some of Singapore’s wildlife at Wildlife Reserves Singapore. At the River Safari Singapore, meet manatees and monkeys, piranhas and pandas, as they congregate in and around the park’s waters. Singapore’s newest wildlife park has over 6000 animals, including 40 threatened species, as well as the world’s largest freshwater aquarium.

As dusk falls, the shutters open at the Night Safari, welcoming you into a world of nocturnal creatures and their dimly-lit homes. Located next to the Singapore Zoo and River Safari, the Night Safari is the world’s first safari park for nocturnal animals.

Here your family will be greeted by over 2,500 animals from over 130 species – including many indigenous to the region, such as the endangered Asian elephant, Malayan tapir and Malayan tiger.

Day 5

If you didn’t have enough fun on Sentosa earlier in your trip, you can head here for another day of fast paced fun! This time the kids can kickstart their careers at KidZania.

Suitable for those aged four to 14, Kidzania is a new educational theme park that lets children experience over 80 different real-life scenarios, including working in a replica newsroom as a journalist. Once they have mastered the world of being an adult they can race the family while ziplining or complete a high ropes adventure course at Mega Adventure Park.

Hop on the Skyline Luge Sentosa for a unique go-karting experience, but not before you and the kids take the Skyride chairlift to the top of the Luge track, where a stunning view of Sentosa awaits.

Once you’ve reached the top, board your Luge and navigate over 600 metres worth of trails at whatever speed you fancy — go daringly fast or cruise along at a leisurely pace.
