Travel Counsellors awards top agents

Travel Counsellors’ annual conference took place in Melbourne over the weekend and has featured keynote speaker Olympic cyclist Anna Meares as well as presentations from CEO Steve Bryne and managing director Fred Van Eijk.

The weekend culminated in an awards gala on Saturday night, held at the Laneway rooms of the InterContinental Hotel.

Anthony Callea performed to the packed room of agents and suppliers.

So without further ado, the winners were:

Top supplier award:

Wide eyed tours;  this was a new category and the winner drew 20 per cent of agent votes

Best leisure agent:

Matt Schmitz, with $1.9 million sales in a year

Best corporate agent: 

Nadine Kutz; with $1.7 million turnover

Top cruise agent:

Karen Coates; with a sales figure of $450,000 in cruise bookings

Best newcomer: 

Jake Chiem; who has turned over $681,ooo since starting in February

Best margin:

Sharon Woods, who averages a 21 per cent margin

Best business increase:

Lani Symons-Vaughn with 138 per cent increase in a year

Best use of Phenix:

Karen Coates, with more than 30 per cent of business booked through GDS Phenix

Most helpful Travel Counsellor:

Suzanne Watson, with 50 per cent more votes than any other Counsellor

Best TC score, voted by the customer:

Matt Schmitz, with 98 per cent satisfaction and 130 perfect scores

All winners will go on a VIP trip to Bali this year.
