IHG’s First Hotel Indigo in Aus is not going to be in Sydney
Hotel Indigo, the latest InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) brand is to be located in Brisbane’s cultural and creative heartbeat – Fortitude Valley.
The 140-room hotel on 458 Brunswick Street is the first Hotel Indigo signing for Australia and New Zealand and is due to open in 2020.
Hotel Indigo is IHG’s lifestyle boutique hotel offering. No two Hotel Indigo properties are alike as each is designed to reflect the culture, history and heritage of its local neighbourhood. From the building’s design to the hotel’s artwork and locally-inspired menus, guests can look forward to an intimate boutique hotel experience with the international standards promised by a global hotel company.
“We expect Hotel Indigo Brisbane Fortitude Valley to be the leading lifestyle boutique hotel in Brisbane, bringning a new and vibrant experience to the city. Guests staying at Hotel Indigo Brisbane Fortitude Valley will eat, drink, dance, listen, shop, admire and experience everything that the Valley has to offer. It’s a neighbourhood that’s historical yet shiny and new; traditional but experimental,” Chief Operating Officer at Australasia & Japan, IHG, Karin Sheppard said.
Hotel Indigo Brisbane Fortitude Valley will bring to life the unique vibe of the Valley – home to the city’s cultural, creative, music, fashion and gastronomy scene. This ideal location on Brunswick Street will allow guests to explore the many art galleries, laneway restaurants and boutique stores during their stay in addition to the Valley’s famous nightclubs and live music venues.
“Hotel Indigo Brisbane Fortitude Valley will be part of a mixed-use development which will include residences, commercial office and retail, it is expected to be the first development of its kind in the area, creating a new epicentre for The Valley,” Pointcorp Director, Chris Vitale said.
