Countdown is on for Norwegian Jewel debut

The Norwegian Jewel will make its debut in Australian waters in 2017.

The Norwegian Cruise Line’s (NCL) Norwegian Jewel will sail into Australia waters in November 2017. The itineraries for the 2017/18 seasons have been announced and include 15 huge trips around the South Pacific, New Zealand and Australia, via iconic Australian ports from Tasmania to Darwin.

“The range of accommodation, dining, activity and entertainment options on board is phenomenal and we’re anticipating high demand, and excitement, among experienced local cruise fans and first-time cruisers,” said Steve Odell, Managing Director for Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Australia.

“We’re looking forward to introducing Australian passengers to NCL’s remarkable repertoire of entertainment at sea, which includes cirque, magic and comedy performances as well as Australia’s own award-winning dance production Burn the Floor, which will set the ship’s stage alight on board Norwegian Jewel,” he added.

NCL will return to Australia next February with the Norwegian Star before the Norwegian Jewel launches on 12 November 2017. The new icon will feature seven Sydney round-trip itineraries including a five-day ‘Tasmanian Sampler’ departing 12 November. This sail will provide first-time cruisers the opportunity to experience NCL’s unique ‘Feel Free’ cruising style.

The ‘Feel Free’ style is exclusive to NLC and provides guests more freedom and flexibility aboard contemporary resort style cruise ships. Recently crowned ‘Europe’s Leading Cruise Line’ for the eighth consecutive year, as well as ‘Caribbean’s Leading Cruise Line’ for the fourth time and “World Leading Large Ship Cruise Line’ for the third straight year by the World Travel Awards, this newest addition to the NCL line is expected to impress.

Itinerary highlights include a regional nine day voyage through Kangaroo Island and Tasmania’s Burnie departing 14 December 2017 and an 18 day adventure from Sydney to Singapore visiting ports in North Queensland Darwin, Komodo Island and many more, departing in February 2018.

Aboard the newly refurbished Norwegian Jewel, is a world of luxury at sea. With a range of staterooms, balcony staterooms and luxury suites boasting superb views, private outdoor areas and multiple bedrooms, there is suitable accommodation for all 2376 potential guests. The ultra-exclusive ‘The Haven’ is home to the line’s plush suites and villas that include private courtyards, spas, pools and dedicated concierge services.

Entertainment and activities for all ages is not short of plenty, with the Norwegian Jewel hosting a casino, eight complimentary restaurants, six specialty dining venues, cafes, 24/7 pizza delivery and myriad specialty bars and lounges including the requisite poolside bar.

Guests can get active or wind down with a range fitness facilities and spas. The outdoor court provides the space for basketball, dodge ball, tennis and volleyball, as well as a kid-loving aqua park, Sapphire pools and age-specific kids clubs. A range of classes is available that includes favourites like Zumba and yoga. The Mandara Spa and Spa Thermal Suite’s range of indulgent treatments will provide those seeking relaxation, a proper pampering experience.

For Australians aboard cruises remaining around native waters do not require a passport, however for those exploring international waters will require a passport with at least six-months’ validity.
