Midweek Interview: Samantha Langton, Sales Manager QLD, Uniworld

Midweek Interview: Samantha Langton, Sales Manager QLD, Uniworld

The challenge for the industry is… The world can seem like an uncertain place at times but keeping a positive outlook is important and the past has shown that our industry is able to overcome challenges very quickly.

The things I like about my job… I love representing a product that I absolutely love and in an industry that I truly feel honoured to be a part of.

And the frustrations are… Time. Sometimes I wish there were just a few more hours in the day.

If I didn’t work in travel I would be… Possibly a vet. I have always loved animals, though not as much as travel.

Favourite airline? Virgin.  Virgin was the beginning of a travel revolution in our country making travel accessible and affordable for everyone.

My proudest moment was… I’ve had many great moments over the years but most recently I would have to say that I was very proud and thrilled to accept my role at Uniworld. It is a product and company I have long admired so it is an absolute dream to be working with them.

The naughtiest thing I ever did was… It’s a secret…

I try to relax by… Spending time with my husband and our three kids. If I get a quiet moment I love to read.

The last time I feared for my life was… Never. I did fall into the Zambezi river while white water rafting at Victoria Falls.  It wasn’t until I was back in the raft that I spotted the crocs on the banks of the river.  Though I didn’t fear for my life I think I would have had I known about the crocodiles before I fell!

If I can, I always try to avoid… 5am flights.

I really wish I had… Unlimited frequent flyer points.

The best advice I’ve ever received was… Making a big life change is scary…But what is scarier is regret.

I don’t understand why people… Don’t just have a crack…it’s an adventure.

My greatest weakness is… Chocolate and a shoe sale.

And my greatest strength is… Positivity and perseverence.

If I won a $1 million lottery (aside from travelling), I would… Buy my husband an American Truck, and F250 or Dodge Ram.

If I was prime minister I would… Implement more resources to help break the cycle of poverty and addiction in young Aussies.

If I could be someone else for one day I would be… A Kardashian…or perhaps a neurosurgeon.  Both would be an interesting experiment.

I’ve always wanted to travel to… Kokoda.

My favourite holiday was… Mammoth Lakes or South Africa.
