Visiting Canberra now app-solutely a must

Tech-savvy travellers now have access to all there is to do in Canberra thanks to an innovative and interactive tool to help plan their next trip.

VisitCanberra’s new app enables the user to choose from a wide variety of Canberra experiences to piece together their own video itinerary.

The recently released suite of promotional videos called Weekend Movie Trailers was the inspiration behind the VisitCanberra’s app, which allows the user to create their own trailer, which can then be shared with family and friends online.

VisitCanberra director Ian Hill said the app helps to bring Canberra’s One Good Thing After Another tourism message to life.

“This app capitalises on Canberra’s unique selling point as a short break destination – our incredibly diverse range of experiences, all of which are located in close proximity to one another,” Hill said.

“Whether you’re looking for blockbuster exhibitions, award-winning restaurants and wineries, world-class mountain biking tracks or something fun for the kids to do, everything is just moments away in Canberra.

“We pride ourselves on innovation and putting the visitor at the centre of our thinking. With new direct international air services commencing in September this year, now is the perfect time to showcase Canberra’s offering to a global audience.”

VisitCanberra worked with more than 60 industry partners to film each experience that appears in the app and associated Weekend Movie Trailers.

In the following 12 months the app will be updated with fresh content, showcasing even more exciting experiences on offer across the Canberra region.

“This app is another great digital resource produced by VisitCanberra which encourages social advocacy and builds on the success of our award-winning campaigns, Human Brochure and 101 Local Humans,” Hill added.

The smartphone and tablet app is available for free now on both iOS and Android platforms by searching VisitCanberra in the App store.
