Malaysia Airlines makes play for premium travellers
Malaysia Airlines is targeting premium travellers with a new business class product and some hefty discounts, as it continues to make strides in its turnaround strategy.
The airline is rolling out its new Business Class cabins across 15 A330 aircrafts and will be available on flights between Kuala Lumpur and Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, China and India. The newly configured A330 will have 27 Business Class seats, with fully lie-flat seats replacing the A330’s angled flat beds.
To celebrate the roll-out, the airline has launched a promotion enabling customers to purchase two business or first class fares for the price of one, valid until April 18.
“The introduction of a revamped Business Class cabin, which first departed for Sydney in March 2016, has created a market leading offering where customers can relax in sumptuous surrounds and arrive rested thanks to a luxurious fully flat bed,” country manager for Australia and New Zealand Ben Stephens said.
Earlier this month, chief executive Christoph Mueller confirmed that the carrier had recorded a profit in February, its first positive monthly result in years, and said it is on track to return to the black by 2018.
