Time to Tok Tok

Vanuatu’s Iririki Island Resort and Spa will be home to Tok Tok 2016, the country’s tradeshow showcasing the best of the island.

Tok Tok will be held in August, with a range of industry partners from Australia, New Zealand, Europe, USA and Asia set to attend the 3-day event and see the exciting developments of the country firsthand.

Linda Kalpoi, Vanuatu Tourism Office’s general manager, said Tok Tok this year is more important than ever following a tough 12 months in tourism.

“It’s no secret that Vanuatu has faced some difficult times over the last year and Tok Tok is the ideal place for us to come together as an industry, show the wholesalers how resilient Vanuatu is and let them see for themselves that Vanuatu is not only open but our tourism industry is moving forward in leaps and bounds.”

The tradeshow will follow the launch of a major marketing campaign in May to boost tourism numbers to the destination, as well as the re-opening of two of Vanuatu’s biggest properties after extensive refurbishment: Holiday Inn Resort and Iririki Island Resort and Spa.

The tradeshow will be the ideal opportunity for travel industry buyers to leverage interest in the destination by meeting with local suppliers, exchanging travel ideas and learning about new opportunities in Vanuatu.

Before and after the event, attendees will have a chance to tour across Vanuatu’s 83 islands and experience all the highlights on offer.

The event also combines with the release of Air Vanuatu’s new Boeing 737-800 aircraft, which introduces a new level of comfort in flight with the spacious ‘Sky Interior’. Tok Tok participants will be able to experience this first hand, with the airline ensuring every Vanuatu experience starts as soon as participants board the plane.
