New pass for 40 attractions in Jordan

New pass for 40 attractions in Jordan

Jordan aims to attract more tourists with a new visitor pass providing free entry to 40 sightseeing attractions.

It also entitles visitors to a visa at no fee, the country’s tourism office said.

The ticket includes free entry to the famous cliff city of Petra and the desert valley Wadi Rum, as well as to such lesser-known sites as the Church of the Apostles and the crusaders’ castle of Kerak.

The price of the pass depends on the length of a visitor’s stay at Petra, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. The one-day Wanderer pass costs 70 dinars ($A13.92). The two-day Explorer pass costs 75 dinars and the three-day Expert pass 80 dinars.

At the same time, the entry visa of 40 dinars is being waived if the visitor has obtained a pass beforehand and it is shown to immigration officers at the airport.

Online orders of the pass can be made at: www.jordanpass.jo.
