5 things to do when you’ve got one day in San Fran

San Fran is a hip and funky city, adored by hipsters and millennials everywhere.

So Contiki thought it essential to include it in its TTC Great Escape itinerary, part of the thrilling adventure awaiting a special group of agents towards the end of this year.

If you haven’t already got involved in the TTC Great Escape, now is your chance – because this is one famil you will want to save a seat on. Check out more here.

But for now, let’s wrap up the perfect one day stopover in the city of San Fran. Here’s our top 5:

1. Chill at North Beach

The original hipster hangout, North Beach is the cafe to visit when in San Francisco. A perfect spot for cappuccino and espresso, North Beach is transformed into one of San Francisco’s most electric playgrounds by night; live music and dancing keep the streets swinging.

In the morning practice tai chi with the regulars in Washington Square and from here, catch the No. 39 bus to the top of Telegraph Hill for some incredible views.

2. Jump on a cable car

From North Beach, hop on San Fran’s iconic mode of transport, and see the city from an entirely new perspective.

3. Bike across that famous bridge

You know, the Golden Gate Bridge? Yeah, we thought so. Nothing cooler than cruising along on a hipster bike with your mates, seeing the amazing SF views and getting a workout while you’re doing it.

Not to mention the awesome Instagram shot you’ll grab with the bridge in the background.

4. Get reeled into Fisherman’s Wharf

The wharf is buzzing with activity and definitely worth stopping off at after your cycle across the bridge. Chomp on some chowder and watch crabs steam and sizzle right in front of your eyes.

A food lover’s haven, Fisherman’s Wharf boasts some of the best dining in the world. The Wharf’s eclectic mix of international cuisine is sure to make a hit with your taste buds.

5. Check out Chinatown

A wander through Chinatown for dinner is the ideal way to wrap up your day in San Fran. San Francisco Chinatown is the largest Chinatown outside of Asia as well as the oldest Chinatown in North America.

Stumble into one of the most eclectic and cultural coves of the city for a night to remember.
