Hotel nookie 50 shades steamier

It’s official. New research proves getting it on while staying at a hotel is better than at home. Could it be the Egyptian cotton Frette sheets or bed heads built to handle some 50 shades action, we wonder?

According to the recent Jetsetter poll, 81% of the 3100 people surveyed said sex is better in a hotel. 10% disagreed and 9% said they “wouldn’t know” (as if we’d believe them).

What makes it more enticing between the hotel sheets? Apparently, according to a clinical psychologist quoted in roadwarrior, the mix of having a new and potentially romantic environment coupled with luxury you may not be used to at home (did we mention the 3000-count Egyptian cotton Frette sheets?) added with a sense of relaxation getting away from dirty dishes and the kids lights the bedroom fire.

“People are much more relaxed when they are in hotels. With newness, romance and relaxation, people are more akin to engage in pleasurable activities, including sex,” Ildiko Tabori, a Clinical Psychologist, said.

Others attribute the sexier sex to well before even entering the hotel bedroom – saying “checking in feels akin to trying on a new identity, which can make you more apt to swap the typical missionary for something a little more 50 Shades of Grey,” per the report.

“Some hotels put it all out there — sex toy room service, blush-worthy kits in the minibar — but then there’s the raw magnetism of a stay in the South African savannah or the slow sultry rhythms of a beach bungalow in Bora Bora,” according to Smarter Travel managing editor Colleen Clark.

But some reckon it’s down to the basics – and what makes the hotel sexy is its rooms and suites, maybe a private infinity pool and if you’re going all out, a Jacuzzi hot tub for two. The price tag upon check-out however may kill your libido.

Along with the poll, Jetsetter provided a list of its top accommodation picks for the best places where to be ‘getting it on’:

  • Jade Mountain, Saint Lucia
  • Secret Bay, Dominica
  • 1 Hotel South Beach

    1. I think it’s the pillows that make it more sexy. Sometimes when my wife is cleaning our bed sheets I notice that the pillows have little yellow islands on them. Can be distracting. I doubt they have that in Hotels.

My son said that most men who have sex in hotels now a days are probably being adulterous, I wonder if this survey went back and checked their guilt levels. Just a thought.
