Sabre hops in bed with new app

Sabre Pacific has launched its latest Red app for travel agents in the region.

RoomDeal is a tool that gives travel agents an expanded view of 350,000 prepaid boutique and branded hotels.

Working with 25 top aggregators, the likes of GTA, HotelBeds and Expedia, the travel tech company has captured and qualified non-GDS options from around the world for Aussie agents to book, adding their own discretionary fee.

“We want our agents to be able to cater to even the most differentiated demand,” Sabre Pacific, md Jeremy van der Klundert said.

Based on location maps, real-time availability and neat little extras such as inclusive Wi-Fi, agents can instantly pick, confirm, modify and cancel their reservations subject to the hotels cancellation policy, even out of hours.

Integrated with Sabre Red Workspace, RoomDeal records the accommodation as a passive booking segment in the traveller’s PNR.

“Bundling net rates with other travel products becomes easy, with agents processing just a single transaction. Pilot studies have shown this time-saving alone makes a significant material difference,” van der Klundert added.

New England Travel Centre’s director Craig Ritchie added that the new app is a timesaver.

“We were spending over 7 minutes per booking when we shopped for our hotels outside Sabre, now we do this in less than 3 minutes,” Ritchie said.

“With RoomDeal I get a huge amount of hotel content, amazing net rates, a passive segment in my booking, I can mark up the fare at my own discretion and I am still offering the best deal to the customer. This is a great new revenue generator for us.”

RoomDeal is available now for free to all Sabre agents in Australia.
