A Korean Air Lines executive has quit after an outburst involving the way macadamia nuts were served on a flight.

According to AP, the airline Chairman’s daughter, Cho Hyun-ah, who is also an executive vice president for the carrier, has been forced to resign after facing public backlash for delaying flight over how the attendant served macadamia nuts to first class passengers.

After Hyun-ah was served macadamia nuts in a bag, rather than on a plate, the flight from New York to South Korea was forced to return to the gate because she ordered the senior crewmember off the plane just before take off.

Hyun-ah reportedly “screamed” at the flight attendant and told the person who has chosen not to be named, to fetch the in-flight service manual so she could check on the company’s policy on serving nuts in first-class.

The airline had apologised for inconveniencing passengers, but added it was "natural" for Hyun-ah to fault crew's ignorance of procedures, AP reports.
