Obama has landed at Brisbane Airport, but isn’t going far, taking up temporary residency at the International Terminal’s very own Windmill & Co restaurant.

Available exclusively to international jetsetters, the Big Obama is a gourmet burger of Presidency proportions measuring 27cm tall, and filled with two Angus beef patties, coleslaw, onion rings, three slices of Colby Jack cheese, caramelised onions, spinach, tomato and dill pickled cucumbers.

The mighty mouthful is set in the middle of a crisp, sweet brioche bun, slathered with a generous squirt of All American mustard, and some battered Bay Boy Chips on the side for good measure.

The ‘Big Obama Burger’ was created by Windmill & Co’s resident chef as a ‘hats off welcome’ to the US President, who will arrive in Brisbane this week for the G20 Leaders Summit.

Windmill & Co owner George Drivas said Obama was famous for his love of cheeseburgers, so this seemed as good as any way to welcome the President.

“We drew inspiration from the President’s favourite food and flavours and added the fresh, local produce the First Lady would approve of to create what we think is the best burger in the free world,” he said.

The ‘Big Obama Burger’ is available throughout November at Windmill & Co restaurant on Level 3 Departures of the International Terminal.
