Members of Emirates Skywards or Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) can soon earn reciprocal points between the two loyalty programmes, under a new scheme between the airline and the worldwide hotel group.

The new programme, Your World Rewards, is set to launch on November 19 and allows Skywards and SPG elite members who register for the program, to earn points when they fly with Emirates or stay with Starwood during either business or leisure travel.

Elite Emirates Skywards and SPG members will receive further exclusive rewards of each loyalty program, with Skywards Gold and Platinum members allowed to upgrade their hotel rooms, receiving exclusive benefits including access to SPG elite check-in; late check-out and complimentary in-room Internet access.  In turn, all SPG Platinum members will enjoy advantages of Emirates Skywards elite including priority check-in and priority boarding when flying Emirates.

Members will also earn bonus Starpoints when they fly with Emirates and bonus Miles when they stay with SPG on top of their usual earnings.

“This partnership unites two like-minded companies with complementary global footprints, putting more rewards on the map and taking our most loyal guests’ travel to new heights,” Emirates Airline, executive vice president and chief commercial officer, Thierry Antinori said.

SPG membership is said to have skyrocketed 400% in key emerging markets over the past five years.

“We are living in a new Golden Age of Travel with more people from more places traveling than ever before,” Starwood, senior vice president, distribution, loyalty and partnership marketing, Mark Vondrasek said.

Starwood has the largest high-end presence in the Middle East, with an expected growth of 70% over the next five years for the region.
