Chinta adds air access to Rawnsley in Flinders Ranges

Chinta adds air access to Rawnsley in Flinders Ranges
By admin

Access to the remote Rawnsley Park Station in the Flinders Ranges just got easier with greater air access delivered by outback air safari specialists Chinta Air Tours.

Setting up base at the property, the South Australian company will operate private charter flights in and out of the Station year-round as well as operating Rawnsley’s daily scenic flights.

Rawnsley Park Station owner Tony Smith said they were delighted to welcome Chinta Air Tours to Rawnsley Park Station which will “not only make Rawnsley Park Station more accessible for many visitors it will broaden the range of experiences on offer.”

Smith added that the ease of access for international visitors gives the option of flying into Rawnsley Park Station direct from Adelaide while incorporating a visit to the Flinders with other iconic South Australian destinations, like Kangaroo Island.

Located in the Flinders Ranges region of South Australia, Rawnsley Park Station is 30 kilometres north of Hawker and approximately 4.5-hour’s drive north of Adelaide. Declared a National Landscape by Tourism Australia, the region is home to some of South Australia’s most innovative and luxurious regional accommodation, with operators like Rawnsley Park Station, the Prairie Hotel, Wilpena Pound Resort and Arkaba Station setting a new standard for the region.

Attracting mostly a domestic market, Rawnsley Park Station is a multi-Tourism Award winning property, having won numerous South Australian awards over the past eight years, including those for New Tourism Development, Ecotourism and Unique Accommodation.  Earlier this year Rawnsley Park Station won two Silver medals at the Australian Tourism Awards.

Rawnsley is also a working sheep station, though tourism is the main activity these days.

The property has luxury eco-villas, which were constructed in 2006 and 2009, designed to complement the natural environment and are set on a secluded, elevated site with stunning views of the surrounding ranges . Rawnsley Park Station also offers 3.5 star holiday cabins, a caravan park and bush camping sites, licensed store and swimming pool.

Guests staying at the Station can enjoy the Rawnsley Homestead, the Woolshed Restaurant, scenic flights of the surrounding area, a number of guided bushwalks, walking and cycling trails and 4WD Tours.

In addition to Rawnsley Park Station, Chinta Air Tours has aircraft based in Adelaide and its home base of Ceduna, offering all-inclusive tours to the Gawler Ranges, Eyre Peninsula and Kangaroo Island.
