Trafalgar gets into the World Cup spirit

Trafalgar gets into the World Cup spirit
By admin

A timely collection of Socceroo flags and apparel arrived at Travel Weekly Towers yesterday courtesy of Trafalgar to celebrate the commencement of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

The tour operator is retracing the footsteps of the Socceroos' past World Cup clashes in order to inspire clients to visit the great destinations where the Aussie team took to the field.

Germany is one stop on the map, the destination where Australia made its FIFA World Cup debut in 1974. When the Socceroos returned to Germany again 32 years later, the roaring crowds watched on in Kaiserslautern as the boys in green and gold took down Japan 3-1 in the group stage. Appropriately, some of Germany's cultural capitals that featured in the 2006 World Cup, such as Berlin, Hamburg, Dresden and Munich, are included on Trafalgar's 12-day Best of Germany tour.

The 2010 World Cup in South Africa saw the Socceroos matched up against Germany and Ghana before a much needed win against Serbia in the vibrant city of Nelspruit. This cosmopolitan nation can also be discovered on Trafalgar's 10-day African Adventure tour.
