South African Airways has acquired two new Airbus A320 aircraft, bringing the number of narrow-bodied planes added to SAA in 2014 to six.

“These latest new arrivals will give our customers the added pleasure of flying on brand new aircraft," SAA Country Manager for Australasia, Tim Clyde-Smith, said.

"Besides the improved on-board offering, customers can enjoy their flying experience knowing they are travelling on a more fuel-efficient aircraft, underscoring SAA’s commitment to being an environmentally responsible airline,”

Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) has generated a 3% income improvement in 2013 from the previous year, while annual operating profit was raised 24%.

The results are due to the "sizeable efforts" made by the airline over the past few years within the SCORE earnings enhancement programme, according to chief executive Harry Hohmeister.

Throughout 2014, the airline will expand and refine its range of products and services, most notably with the relaunch of website swiss.com.

Youth travel operator Topdeck has revamped its passenger documentation system, with agents and passengers now able to access documents immediately online after making a booking.

The documents, which include itineraries, joining instructions, hotel lists and general pre-departure information, can be accessed on the Topdeck website through a login in the ‘My Topdeck’ area.
