Helloworld has named Jeremy Reitman, formerly of Expedia, as the new chief executive for Helloworld.com.au as the site becomes the group’s main online presence.

Earlier this week, the company confirmed it is axing Best Flights, with the website to cease trading this weekend. From tomorrow, visitors to BestFlights.com.au and BestCruises.com.au will be redirected to the Helloworld site.

Reitman, who held the role of director of search engine optimisation at Expedia, will take up the role on Monday reporting directly to Helloworld chief executive Rob Gurney.

Gurney highlighted Reitman’s success in driving growth at Expedia, his 16 years of digital experience and his general management skills as significant advantages.

“Jeremy brings new skills and capabilities to helloworld.com.au with an extensive background in online and particular expertise in digital marketing,” he said.

“Helloworld.com.au is an exciting platform and, as Jeremy embeds a new culture of high-impact, digital marketing we expect it to go from success to success and become a challenging presence in the Australian travel market.”
