Air Asia X has placed the world's largest single airline order for 25 Airbus A330-300's in an agreement worth US$6 billion.

The extended range A330-300 aircraft has been ordered which will allow the airline to service Europe and the US as part of an expansion plan for the carrier. 

“This order stamps our firm intent to dominate the long-haul, low cost carrier space and marks the next phase in our development to be the undisputed global market leader," Air Asia X director Tan Sri Tony Fernandes said.

"The A330 is the perfect platform for such operations, with the lowest operating costs, true long range flying capability and a proven track record track of exceptional technical reliability,"  Airbus CEO Farbrice Br√©gier said.

 

Captain Cook Cruises has raised $6452 for the McGrath Foundation following an event to turn Sydney Harbour pink in Sepember.

10% of cruise proceeds were donated during the month and the cruise compant matched that amount to reach the final cheque figure.
