Around 77% of Excite Holidays' travel agent clients have signed up to its fledgling agent rewards program since its launch last month.

Chief executive George Papaioannou reported an enthusiastic response from the trade, with the offer of 2,000 bonus points for the first 300 agents that joined taken up within 15 minutes of its launch. In the first four hours, more than 1,000 agents had signed up to the scheme.

"We want to thank our travel agent clients for their continued loyalty, support and the fantastic response, Papaioannou said.

"We want to keep that momentum going and we will continue to evolve our Rewards Program and look forward to building additional features and promotions in the future."

Agents had already started redeeming points on Excite Holidays products on the day of launch, he added.
