C&K reports smooth transition for Explore

Cox & Kings Australia is confident its extensive distribution network will see the Explore Worldwide brand flourish.

Cox & King's parent company in the UK acquired Explore last year, and although it continued to be represented locally by Venture Holidays in the short-term, Cox & Kings Australia took it under its wing on April 1.

"It was natural to bring it under our livery,' product manager Lindsay Cowan told Travel Today.

“Explore complements our Cox and Kings Small Group Journeys program, both travelling to far corners of the world but offering a differing style and accommodation standards.”

With good opportunities to cross sell and a strong repeat rate of more than 60%, Cowan is confident the brand will prosper under the new arrangement.

"We probably have a bit more of a distribution capability than the previous company," he said.

"In just two months we have seen growth over the same period two months ago and we're looking forward to double digit growth in a very short period of time."

Meanwhile, Cowan revealed Burma as a standout performer of Explore's range of 450 tours to over 120 countries. The firm has added new itineraries and departures online in order to cater to demand.

Melbourne agents were invited to a cocktail function in Melbourne last night to learn about Explore Worldwide's range of products – check out the pictures in our Travel Blog.
