Tibet restrictions liable to change: Peregrine
By admin

Peregrine has become the latest wholesaler to welcome China's lifting of travel restrictions to Tibet, but warned travellers should act swiftly or risk missing out.

The changes, announced by the Chinese Government, mean there is now no longer a minimum number of travellers required per nationality within a tour group.

However, Steve Wroe, Peregrine Himalaya destination manager, stressed that the rules about travelling in China-governed Tibet are liable to frequent change.

"But for now, Chinese authorities have eased restrictions to allow more people to experience this incredible region," he said.

Peregrine has operated tours to Tibet for 25 years, using local leaders that show travellers the country "through their eyes".

"There's nowhere else in the world that offers such unobstructed views of the north face of Mount Everest," Wroe said. "It's a very moving experience."

The operator offers three Tibetan itineraries, with departures starting from September 6, and 10% discount on bookings made by May 3.

G Adventures welcomed the easing of the travel restrictions earlier this week.
