A new partnership between SilverNeedle Hospitality and Virgin Australia's Velocity Frequent Flyer scheme will allow Velocity members to earn points at Grand Chifley, Chifley, Australis, Country Comfort and Sundowner hotels. The deal follows SilverNeedle's recent Regional Business Travel Survey which shows more than 50% of business travellers believed the ability to earn Velocity points is an important factor when making travel arrangements.

 

Peter Sommer Travels has launched a new eight-day sailing expedition along Turkey's Carian Coast aboard a traditional wooden gulet. The archaeological tour departs Dalaman on June 2 and is priced from $3160.

Marketing manager Maureen Van Metter told Travel Today that the new tour had been introduced on the back of strong growth in sales to the east coast and, based on its popularity so far, could become a yearly event.
