Resort reopens in bushfire wake
By admin

Kings Canyon Resort in the Northern Territory will reopen on Wednesday following a thorough assessment of damage sustained by last week's bushfires.

The property was closed as wildfires swept through the area last week, with staff also heading for safety in Alice Springs.

However, the resort's owners, Delaware North, confirmed that all staff have now returned to the resort and are in the process of cleaning up damage caused by ash and smoke.

"The structural damage to the property was fortunately minimal and does not impact on the guest accommodation or public areas," a statement from the hospitality firm said.

Meanwhile, the Watarrka National Park, Kings Canyon Rim Walk and the Kathleen Springs Walk continue to be monitored by authorities and will remain closed until further notice as a precautionary measure.
