Oaks begins Asia expansion
By admin

Oaks Hotels and Resorts has made its promised debut in Asia with the opening of a 115-apartment property in Bangkok.

The Oaks Bangkok Sathorn is expected to be the first of several properties in Asia, with parent company Minor International also exploring the possibility of taking the brand into the Middle East and China (Travel Today, July 4)

The new property is located in the tower next to Anantara Bangkok Sathorn, which is also owned by Minor.

Oaks founder Brett Pointon, who sold the company to Minor last year, said the launch into Asia was a “significant milestone” for the brand.

“With Minor Hotel Group forging this expansion, expect to see more Oaks Hotels and Resorts in leading Australian and Asian Pacific locations in the very near future,” he said in a statement.

The property is based in the heart of Bangkok’s business and entertainment district and is close to the city’s Blue Rapid Transit where guests can connect to the sky train.

One, two and three bedroom apartments are available with Oaks saying it will appeal to business and leisure travellers.

It will share some facilities with the Anantara. The complex includes a pool, spa, tennis courts, restaurant and pizzeria.

Introductory offers of $1350 Thai Baht per night, based on a two-night minimum, are on offer.
