Shangri-La brings Traders brand to Australia
By admin

Shangri-La Hotels is to introduce its Traders brand to Australia following the acquisition of the 191-room Holiday Inn in Brisbane.

The Hong Kong-based firm, which takes over management of the property in August, said it further underlines its “long term vision for Australia”.

The deal for the Holiday Inn follows Shangri-La’s acquisition of the 563-room Shangri-La in Sydney and its majority shareholding of The Marina in Cairns.

Australia is the hotel group’s third largest market and forms a “substantial membership base” within its Golden Circle loyalty program.

Shangri-La operates 13 mid market Traders Hotels which will rise to 17 with the opening of properties in Brisbane, Chennai, Doha and Johor in Malaysia.
