Accor endorses Casino plans
Accor Australia has praised James Packer’s Barangaroo Casino bid as a long overdue investment in Sydney’s tourism sector.
Chief operating officer Simon McGrath said the proposed investment was necessary to keep pace with Sydney’s quickly-developing rivals, Melbourne, Singapore and Hong Kong.
“In Sydney, there has been virtually no development, which in turn has affected our ability to attract new — and particularly high-end tourism — to the city,” he said. “[This] could very well provide the kick-start Sydney has lacked since the Olympics.”
