Starwood relocates global headquarters to India
By admin

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide will relocate its global headquarters from the USA to India in March 2015 for a month-long immersion.

The company’s ceo and senior leadership teams will conduct day-to-day business out of Delhi and Mumbai for the month, in a move that is said to reflect the importance it gives to its third largest market.

“Global trends are revolutionizing travel.  Rapidly growing markets and a more interconnected world are bringing high-end travellers to new markets like never before,” Starwood president & ceo, Frits van Paasschen said.

According to Paasschen, India’s renewed focus on travel infrastructure is “much needed” and  described India as a hotbed “of technological innovation and global services”.

During the month, the Starwood team will travel to cities throughout India to meet with associates, customers, owners and prospective developers.

India has also become one of the world’s fastest growing outbound travel markets, with a projected size of 50 million travellers abroad by 2020.
