Air NZ names new GM Australia
By admin

Air New Zealand has revealed that Leanne Geraghty, the carrier's head of leisure sales Australia, will become general manager Australia, a role vacated by Cam Wallace last month.

The airline's deputy chief executive and acting chief sales officer Norm Thompson said Geraghty will play a "key role" in further driving the airline's commercial success in the Australian market.

"We thoroughly tested the market for someone with the right focus and experience in sales, coupled with the strategic vision to take our Australian operation to the next level of commercial success — and the local knowledge to execute that vision," he said. "Leanne ticks all those boxes and it's great to know that such commercially savvy leadership talent is being produced from within the airline."

Thompson referred to Geraghty's success in growing Air NZ's Tasman market, bolstered by its trans-Tasman alliance with Virgin Australia which connects Air New Zealand's 26 domestic ports to Virgin Australia's 34 domestic ports.
