Which Aussie airlines are among the countries most sought after employers?

Let’s be real: airlines are a pretty attractive employer to work for.

There’s the cool uniforms, the travel opportunities and you’re usually surrounded by people who are embarking on fantastic travel experiences.

Well now, we have proof that Aussies are just itching to work for airlines, two in particular.

Randstad has released new research which reveals the top 20 most attractive employers in Australia.

And no, that doesn’t mean they’ve been ranked based on how physically attractive their employees are, though we would like to see the research on that.

Of course, the Travel Weekly office would be top contenders.

As part of Randstad’s Employer Brand Research, the company looked at 10,000 Australian workers’ perceptions of employer brands and job seeker drivers.

Unsurprisingly, Apply took out the top spot, confirming Aussie’s devotion to all things tech.

But MORE IMPORTANTLY second and third place were taken out by Virgin Australia and Qantas respectively.

According to the research, Aussies see working in the aviation sector as offering not only the opportunity to travel the world, but also financial compensation and opportunities for career development.

The research is based on public perception of Australia’s 150 largest employers (largest by workforce size) and looks at 10 key attributes – from culture to job content and perceived reputation.

The report also found that work-life balance is the single most important reason for employees to stay in their roles, even trumping salary benefits.

Personally, the main reason we like our job is because the office always has at least one dog in it, but that’s just us.
