Which airline has the most brand appeal?

A global study into travellers’ views of airlines based solely on their logos and brand appeal has ranked Qantas at 16th position.

The study of 24,000 people from 64 countries was conducted by German design and branding team GraphicSprings.com and ranked Etihad in the number one spot.

Respondents were asked to judge perceptions of an airline that they may never have flown on based solely on its logo and name.

The study is part of a larger study on corporate logos and branding penetration. Among the findings it was clear it was found that the Gulf airlines have an edge when it comes to branding, credibility, and desirability. Another interesting result is how the country of origin has an effect in desirability to fly or not in an airline.

Kazakhstan’s Air Astana was deemed the least desirable of all the carriers listed while, unsurprisingly given its recent troubles, Malaysian Airlines polled in second last position.
