Walshe Group celebrates 40 years

The Walshe Group has celebrated 40 years of endurance and evolution, flying staff in from New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan to Manly over the weekend.

The birthday theme of ‘Endurance and Evolution’ was opened by founder and stalwart, Rodney Walshe who began the company in New Zealand in 1976.

“I believe we have been lucky over the years, but much of the last decades growth has to be attributed to current Managing Director, Jacqui Walshe whose steerage has taken the company to where it stands today,” Walshe said.

Managing Director and owner Jacqui Walshe thanked staff, some of whom have been with the company for decades.

“Over 40 per cent of our staff have been with us for five plus years.  We are seeing a company shift as we expand our destination division and have seen a substantial growth in this footprint over the last 15 years with clients today including Hawaii Tourism Oceania, NYC & Company, Visit Flanders, Oman Tourism, Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority under our roof,” Jacqui Walshe said.

The Walshe Group has over 120 employees in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan.

“The Walshe Group has survived global crises and dramatic changes in the way we travel and the way we market travel and tourism.  Our theme of endurance and evolution is a nod to hard work, good people as well as the evolution in our company’s ability to adapt to the changing world around us and to continue to seek out best practice in whatever we do.”

“We have a number of long serving clients that have been with us for over 30 years and we are grateful and humble for those long-term partnerships”, Jacqui Walshe added.

Over the past few years we have rebranded, opened new offices in other countries and local cities and are working with new clients from ANA to Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority and we are thrilled to continue our long-term relationship with clients such as Hawaii Tourism Oceania and Delta Air Lines.
