Tui Specialist Group rebrand to Travelopia

Tui Group announced it will rebrand the Tui’s Specialist Group to Travelopia.

As reported by Travel Weekly UK, the division, which comprises more than 50 brands, would not reveal any more details but “confirmed it would operate under the new name with immediate effect.”

A company employee of Specialist Group company Quark Expeditions posted a tweet saying “Exciting News – welcome #Travelopia! A new home for fantastic specialist #Travel brands delivering incredible inspiring experiences!”

According to Travel Weekly UK, the Tui Group previously announced it would dispose of its Specialist Group, which includes the Specialist Holidays Group, but would retain Crystal Ski and Thomson Lakes & Mountains within Tui UK & Ireland under managing director Nick Longman. The sale process will be overseen by Specialist Group chief executive Will Waggott.

Tui Group chief executive Fritz Joussen said “They (Specialist Group) are great brands. This is a good, strong set of businesses. But they have one thing in common – they don’t use our brands or our IT, our ships, our aviation so there’s no synergy. We want to be vertically integrated.”
