Tui ditches brands in major revamp

The world’s biggest travel firm, Tui Group will phase out its Thomson and First Choice travel brands as the company moves to come under a single identity umbrella across all markets.

The company has also reportedly told media it will sell off its LateRooms website by the end of the year.

The BBC reports the rebranding will take up to three years to complete, with Thomson, which dates back to 1965, to be the last to go because of its size.

Tui boasts 30 million customers, more than 300 hotels, 136 planes and 1,800 shops across Europe.

The BBC reports the rebrand was announced along with its half-year results, showing losses of 272.6m euros.
