Trenitalia’s Italian journeys now available via Rail Online
Edited by Travel Weekly

Rail Online is now offering Australian travellers the ability to book Trenitalia’s full range of Italian train journeys – as well as some cross-border connections – with tickets available up to six months in advance.

Trenitalia offers an extensive fleet of sleek high-speed Frecce trains and operates a wide network that spans Italy – from major cities to lesser-known destinations. In addition, the company operates a number of international routes, including a twice daily service between Milan and Paris, via Lyon and Torino.

Rail Online general manager Australia and New Zealand Kirsty Blows said rail has always been the preferred mode of transport for Australian travellers exploring Italy’s world-class cultural and natural attractions.

“With most major cities within three hours of each other, and robust competition ensuring train prices are some of the most competitive in Western Europe, high-speed rail travel in Italy is easy, efficient and cost effective,” Blows said.

“By making it easier for travellers to book train journeys, Rail Online is ensuring more Australians than ever before will enjoy the opportunity to experience one of Europe’s most revered rail networks as they explore one of the world’s great destinations.”

Rail Online’s platform allows customers to search, compare and book rail journeys, with ‘live’ inventory priced in Australian dollars and customers empowered to self-manage itinerary amendments.

The addition of Trenitalia services further expands the company’s wide-ranging European rail offering, which includes rail passes, Eurostar services and high-speed journeys connecting France, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
