Tourism chiefs play musical chairs

Diane Smith-Gander, chairman of Transfield Services, has been highlighted as the forefront candidate expected to take over the role as Tourism Australia chairman.

According to a report in the Australian, Smith-Gander, previously on the Tourism WA board, is expected to secure the coveted placement which replaces Geoff Dixon who completed his tenure on June 30. Smith-Gander most recently left the WA board after serving a three-year term.

Meanwhile in WA, hotel owner and proprietor of Sandalford Wines, Peter Prendiville has been appointed to continue as Tourism WA’s board chairman for a further three years. Little Creatures founder Howard Cearns will continue as deputy chair.
