James Thornton is the first non-founding Managing Director of Intrepid Travel and the first Managing Director of Intrepid Group.

He is also one of the first people you should talk to if you want to know what the future holds for the travel industry.

And you can do just that at Travel DAZE, because James is one of the spectacular speakers we’ve got lined up for you. James Thorton

34 year-old James began his career in the lucrative field of Private Client Asset Management, but travel inspired him to make a change. It was while sitting on a beach in Rio ten years ago that James decided life was too short to spend time helping the rich get richer, and he would rather spend his time doing something he was passionate about.

James joined Intrepid’s UK team as Sales and Marketing Coordinator was appointed as Managing Director of newly formed Intrepid Group in 2013.

Taking over 250,000 travellers to more than 100 countries on all seven continents, Intrepid Group is the world’s largest provider of adventure travel experiences and the only vertically integrated business in the fast-growing adventure travel sector.

In 2015 James led Intrepid Group through a shareholder split that saw the group become privately owned by Intrepid Travel’s original founders, with the dual objectives of growing the market for sustainable experience rich travel and operating a company that has a purpose beyond profit.

Basically, he has the know-how to you need to navigate The Future of Travel.
