Thai Airways to restart daily non-stop Bangkok-Perth services
Edited by Travel Weekly

    Thai Airways has announced it will recommence its daily non-stop service between Bangkok and Perth from Wednesday, 27 March 2024.

    Thai Airways will operate the daily service on a B787-8 aircraft, with the return of the service to bring an additional 256 inbound seats daily to Western Australia – more than 93,000 extra travellers a year.

    Thailand is WA’s eighth largest trading partner, and a significant market for international students.

    Thailand is considered an emerging market for leisure visitation, with the resumption of these non-stop flights to provide further tourism growth opportunities for both economies.

    • Thai Airways will recommence its daily service between Bangkok and Perth from March 2024;
    • New service to provide more than 93,000 additional inbound seats to Perth annually;
    • Flights are now on sale;
    • Return further cements WA’s status as ‘Australia’s Western Gateway’.

    The resumed service also provides an additional flight option for visitors from the UK and continental Europe, which are priority markets for Western Australia, and further strengthens WA’s status as ‘Australia’s Western Gateway’.

    “We’re very excited to welcome Thai Airways back to Western Australia, and the opportunities this non-stop daily service between our two destinations will bring.

    “Our State Government has been proud to work with Perth Airport to bring back and secure new non-stop flights to Western Australia, and strengthen our State’s global reputation as the ‘Western Gateway to Australia’.

    “Securing and recommencing direct aviation services is absolutely vital to driving travellers to our State, injecting visitor spend into our economy, and creating jobs in the tourism and hospitality industries,” acting tourism minister Reece Whitby, said.

    This comes just after South African Airways announced that it would resume flights to Perth.
