TFE Hotels has become the first major hotel group in Oceania to complete Booking.com’s Travel Proud Program and become officially certified.

The Travel Proud program helps hotels create an inclusive and welcoming environment for guests. As part of the program, our hotel teams familiarised ourselves with diversity, inclusion, sexual orientation, and gender identity and what they mean for the hospitality industry.

Director of revenue Marit Connell and some of the Sydney-based general managers including Jay Hore (A by Adina Sydney); Diana Quinones (Adina Bondi); Ben Saxton (Adina Surry Hills); Marit; Daniel Sprange (Vibe Darling Harbour) and Bensen Robards (Vibe Darling Harbour) attended the Travel Proud event earlier this week.

“At TFE Hotels, we show our commitment to diversity to ensure that all our guests feel at home from the moment they walk through our doors,” Connell said.

“We are thrilled to have identified ways to help our team deliver an even more inclusive experience for our LGBTQIA+ guests, and we can’t wait to put these practices into action!”

Booking.com’s Laura Houldsworth, managing director Asia Pacific added: “Huge congratulations to our partners TFE Hotels on being 100% certified on Booking.com’s Travel Proud program.

“Certification shows that all travellers are welcome. Our research shows that 82 per cent of global LGBTQIA+ travellers have had a less than welcoming experience. At Booking.com, we filter places, not people and know how important it is for everyone to have a place to feel safe. Thank you TFE for your commitment to inclusivity.”
