Travel for the creative industries has taken off in the last three months with bookings soaring by more than 54 per cent when compared to the same time period last year.

Innovative internal data from the creative industries travel management experts, Stage and Screen, showed that between 01 May 2023 to 31 July 2023, travel for the sector reached full-throttle, with Melbourne to Sydney leading the way as the number one city pair for the industry.

The term ‘creative industries’ describes businesses with creativity at their heart – for example design, music, publishing, architecture, film and video, crafts, visual arts, fashion, TV and radio, advertising, literature, computer games and the performing arts.

Industry leaders like entertainment company HOYTS are the perfect example of this – intelligently catering to their consumers as people flocked back to cinema screens to relax once again, with popcorn in hand, to take in some of the world’s biggest blockbusters.

HOYTS’ executive assistant to the CEO and CFO, Rachel Green, said the return to travel reflected just how much cinema was thriving along with its overall business success.

“The bounce back of cinemas post-pandemic is testament to the love people have for going to the movies,” Green, said.

“We recently acquired four cinemas in Western Australia with travel and working with Stage and Screen playing key roles in enabling our people to be on the ground to save them from closure and rebrand them as HOYTS.”

Stage and Screen general manager, Adam Moon, lauded the creative industry for how they conduct their business – staying under the radar behind the scenes – but delivering incredible outcomes.

“It’s a real pleasure to partner with flagship brands like HOYTS – knowing we play a role in business success like seeing cinema screens full again after the pandemic is quite humbling,” Moon, said.

“We’re proud to have the experience to cater for the creative industries and the complexities that come with that. When you sign up for a tailored travel solution, it needs to fit like a glove.

“That’s what you’d expect and that’s what we proudly deliver. Our bespoke travel solutions are tailored to the specific needs of each client, needs that can change at the drop of a curtain.

“Our industry-savvy people grasp the fluid nature of travel and they’re experienced at delivering innovative solutions that solve unexpected challenges.

“As creative industry travel specialists for over 30 years, it’s a source of pride to have partnerships like the one we have with HOYTS.”
