South Africa Tourism roadshow drives to build confidence

The South Africa Tourism Roadshow wrapped up last week with the aim to educate trade on South African products to build confidence in selling the destination.

Visiting Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and concluded in Auckland last week, the Road Show, saw attendees set off from province to province across the country with their “Tour Guide” for the evening – South African Comedienne Tumi Morake.

Agents were able to get a taste not only of the country’s finest cuisine and wine, but also of the nation’s diversity, value for money and warm and welcoming locals whilst also being connected with 15 South African operators and 11 Australian and New Zealand wholesalers to gain further invaluable insight and product knowledge.

African Tourism Acting Country Manager Yana Shvarts, said the event was a great opportunity for the travel industry to get to know what South Africa has to offer.

“We’re really proud of the informative show we’ve delivered which will ultimately help agents build the most inspiring holiday itineraries for their clients as well as provide a platform to facilitate business between wholesalers and operators. We are also grateful to our South African product owners as well as South African Airways (SAA), who partnered with us as we showcased the variety that South Africa has to offer and we look forward to welcoming more arrivals into South Africa as a result” Shvarts said.

Also unveiled at the events was South African Tourism’s new campaign “Wow In Every Moment, and 10 lucky agents won a spot on a familiarisation trip to SA to experience a ‘Wow In Every Moment’ for themselves.

Those agents who didn’t win, were advised they’d still have the opportunity to win one of six more spots on the familiarisation by entering the South African Specialist Competition at saspecialist.southafrica.net
