The research found that the cheapest month on average to travel to the most visited tourist destinations around the world is January.

19 of the world’s top vacation destinations, such as London, Paris, Rome, Barbados, Tokyo, New York, and more, were the cheapest on average.

For example, a night in Santiago during January is 564 per cent cheaper on average than in December.

Despite also being listed as two of the most expensive months to travel, May and July are still recognised as being two of the cheapest months to travel in southern hemisphere tourist hotspots including Sydney, where a hotel stay is 139% cheaper than in December.

July is the most expensive month on average for a vacation.

It is the priciest month to travel to 11 destinations, including Dubrovnik, Tokyo, and Florence.

The price difference is massive in some instances such as a night in a hotel in Oia, Santorini costs 496 per cent more on average in July than in January.

Despite being the cheapest month for hotel bookings in Bangkok and Bora Bora, traveling in May is likely to cost more on average, being the second most expensive travel month for 11 destinations, including European destinations Venice, Amsterdam, and Budapest.

A hotel in Venice will cost you 116 per cent more in May compared to January.

The research also revealed the cheapest and most expensive days to travel.

On average Saturday is the best day for a cheap hotel deal.

With many vacationers planning weekend trips away, checking in on a Saturday is less popular and could save you money, especially in Germany.

The most expensive day on average to book a hotel room for the night is Friday.

Friday had the highest average price in fifteen of the world’s favourite vacation destinations, including Las Vegas, and Prague.

So plan your next holiday carefully because the month of the year could be saving you big bucks.
