Those wishing for more room in economy class will be able to do so on Qantas flights with the introduction of ‘neighbour free’ tickets that will be rolled out across the board.

The option was previously available to top end frequent flyers but is now an option to all flying domestically with the national carrier.

Flyers are given the chance to book the seat next to them for an extra fee, ensuring there’s no battles for the armrest.

Those travelling on eligible flights will receive an email two days prior to take off with the offer with fees ranging from $30 to $65.

There are however, no guarantees that the seat will remain free, and it could be booked right up until take off (or filled for security/safety reasons) in which case the customer will receive a refund.
