New river cruises boost brimming industry

River cruises are on the rise, and the stats are stacking up to prove it.

It’s perfect timing, then, for Collette to launch two brand new European river cruises: Timeless France and the Magical Rhine and Moselle tours.

Timeless France will become available in Collette’s collection of river cruises from June 1, 2015, with highlights including The Rhone Valley, Lyon, Avignon, Dijon and Beaune.

Exploring the French Riviera, Frankfurt, Burgundy and Provence on the lavish M/S Amadeus Symphony, travellers can indulge in local culinary delights, sample world-class wines and visit Riquewihr, a storybook village peppered with medieval architecture, pastoral fields and vineyards.

The new Magical Rhine and Moselle tour features Lüftner’s new MS Amadeus Silver II, which hosts passengers on a cruise complete with spa and massage facilities, three bars and an on-board hairdresser.

The new Magical Rhine and Moselle tour is available for bookings now but due to popular demand will replace the previous Collette Rhine and Moselle Tour in 2016.

“Demand for river cruising product has seen exponential growth of 32% in the Australian market last year. We are pleased to be able to offer these exciting new products and I am confident that the Australian market will embrace them,’ Collette’s Australian business manager Alison Mead said.

Favourites from the current suite of Collette river cruises include Legendary Waterways of Europe and Springtime Tulip river cruises.
